What is Visual SEARCH2SEE ?

Visual SEARCH2SEE is a PC based file scanning tool, not language specific, its a general tool, customisable for maximum flexibility thus maximising your investment in just one product. The product will scan files of any size and allow you to use as many search parameters as you require. The limitation is with memory on the machine being used to perform the scan.

It is not just an analysis tool to help with the year 2000 exercise, its a tool which development teams should be using in general to help identify the scope of application changes.

• Batch Mode, provides you with the facility to execute command line scan operations. This is a useful feature if you wish to perform a scan as part of a batch process.
• On-Line mode, provides you with a GUI interface for performing interactive scanning.

• Scanning of multiple drives and directories, whether on a workstation or on a server.
• Scanning of multiple file types, wildcards can also be used.
• Inclusion of multiple keywords to be scanned
• Option to include/exclude comments from a scan. The software tool can store details about the comment styles supported for different languages, for example: .CBL (COBOL) supports an '*' in column 7, a .CPP supports either an '//' or '/*' &'*/ ' type combination etc.
• Inclusion of keywords you do not wish to scan for.
• Inclusion of any files you do not wish to scan.
• Option to report any 'embedded' file types identified in source files during a scan.
• The software tool can store details about the type of 'embedded' file supported by different languages, for example: .CPP supports #INCLUDE, .CBL supports COPY etc.
• Inclusion of any 'embedded' file types you do not wish to report.
